| WordPress plugins and themes | Yes, install the ones you need. |
| Not on the free plan. Free sites cannot send email, which keeps spam off the servers. | |

Moving an old 000webhost site
000webhost's servers are closed, so files can no longer be downloaded from them. If you kept a copy of your site, you can bring it across:
- A WordPress export file (.xml): claim your free site, then in WordPress go to Tools, Import, WordPress, and upload the file. Your posts and pages come back.
- Your images: upload them again under Media.
- No copy at all: search for your old address on the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine (web.archive.org) to copy your old text, then rebuild the site with our step-by-step guide.
Why a hosting company runs a free plan
Hostking sells paid hosting. The free plan lets people try real hosting first. When a site needs business email, backups or more space, it can move to a paid Hostking plan, and we move the site for you. Nobody has to upgrade, and the free plan does not run out.
