Full WordPress, not a cut-down version
Some free website services give you a limited version of WordPress: you cannot add plugins, you cannot change the theme's code, and they show their own ads on your site. On hostking000 you get a normal WordPress install that you control:
- Install the plugins you need, such as a contact page builder, an SEO plugin or a gallery.
- Choose any free or paid theme, or start from one of our starting designs.
- Your pages carry no ads and no hosting badge.
- Your content is yours: export it any time with WordPress's own export tool.

Good for
- Portfolios and CVs
- Blogs, podcasts and clubs
- A first website for a new small business
- Learning WordPress before you build sites for others
What the free plan does not include
We would rather you know now than find out later:
- No email. Free sites cannot send email, so contact forms and shop order emails will not arrive. Put your phone number or a WhatsApp link on your site instead.
- No backups. Keep your own copy of your site.
- Log in every 30 days to keep the site active.
When you need email, backups and more space, Hostking Launch costs from US$2.50 a month for the first year on yearly billing, and we move your site for you. See Hostking plans.
Questions
- Is the WordPress hosting really free?
- Yes. One WordPress website, 1 GB of NVMe storage, 10 GB of traffic a month and a free SSL certificate, with no card needed and no ads on your site.
- Can I install plugins and themes?
- Yes. You get a normal WordPress install, so you can add the plugins and themes you need.
- Can I use my own domain name?
- Free sites use a free yourname.hostking000.net address. Your own domain comes with a paid Hostking plan, and we move your site across for you.
- Can I run a WooCommerce shop?
- You can try it, but free sites cannot send email, so order and password emails will not arrive. A real shop needs a paid plan with email.
- How do I build my first page?
- Follow our step-by-step WordPress guide with pictures. Most people have a home, about and contact page online in about 30 minutes.
